    These are authentic cards directly from Amazon.A thing to note, the capacity is calculated based on the fact that binary is used instead of decimal. Meaning, the actual representation of capacity is not gigabytes but bytes. For 512 GB is equivalent to 512 x (1024)^3 = 549,755,813,888 bytes, which is what you should be getting if the manufacturers were being honest. But instead the equation is played backwards, meaning you get 512,000,000,000 bytes of storage, which if you do the math results in 476 GB of usable capacity.As a computer engineer, I’m baffled by this. And yes, I know they explicitly mention that 1 giga means (1000)^3 bytes in the fine print, but this doesn’t make them any less dishonest.
