    Great TP-Link Litewave 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch / Splitter / Plug & Play | Unmanaged (LS1005G)

    I got rid of my Router & WI-FI, reverting to wired Ethernet access.But my Modem only had one Ethernet port, which meant I had to physically unplug/re-plug the Ethernet cable every time I switched between using my computer & TV.So I got the TP-Link Litewave 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch / Splitter.Placed the cord from my modem into slot 1, and all other cords into the other slots.Done.Works perfectly, and stays cool.I read in other reviews that you can’t use this for a computer and a TV at the same time, so I haven’t tried to.But that’s fine with me, since I don’t use computers & TV’s at the same time.

    great LAN hub

    truly plug and play. i thought it would problem putting my powerline system unto this and then connecting to the computer. no hiccup. adding more stuff to his computer setup that needed a lan connection. especially the PS4.

    Extremely reliable

    I use this for my gaming system and it works very well, fast and reliable. The only issue I’ve had is it had a bit of time, possibly due to a software update, where I had to unplug it and plug it back in every day to get it ot connect. I’m not sure what happened there. That lasted about two weeks, and now it seems fine. If it does that to you, it could be firmware related. Honestly, it’s been so reliable, when that happened I forgot I had it, I hadn’t needed to touch it in so long. When a tool becomes invisible, you know it’s doing a good job. This is definitely a hub you can set up and forget.It doesn’t get hot in use, and I was worried as I keep it in a small space with little ventalation. That’s not been a problem.

    Genial Práctico, Pequeño y sobre todo Funcional

    En un principio pensé que no funcionaría, se notaba algo frágil y ligero incluso, es plástico, pero se siente bien construido y resistente, digo no es para jugar con él, pero alguna caída ó algo creo que si lo resistiría, ya en funcionamiento es genial, conectas tu cable ethernet y los otros que conectes pues comparten la misma red. Lo recomiendo!

    Small, light and portable gigabit switch.

    Connected this to my router to further expand the number of local gigabit ports. I USB-powered the device and speed throughput had been excellent with no issues. It is very light and I have no issues with the switch getting hot. Plug and play right out of the box.

    My Third TP-Link Switch

    This is the third TP-Link switch I’ve owned and they’ve all worked exactly as expected.They work so well you can forget they’re even part of your network.And the Litewave 8 Port is also surprisingly light and compact.My only concern this is the first plastic switch I have bought. And since I bought to carry with me to job sites, it will require a bit more care than the metals ones I have used in the past.But the lightweight in my checked luggage or carry-on may make spending a few extra minutes carefully packing it worthwhile.

    This review is for the “TP-Link Litewave 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch”.This switch size is about a third smaller than its metal cased cousin, the TP-Link TL-SG105, and performs the same. I bought it thinking it would be bigger and was delighted to find out it not only solved my home network needs but its small size also proved very convenient. The switch has two mounting holes at the bottom in case you plan to place it on a wall. It has minimal light indicators (i.e. one for each ethernet port and one lonely light at the top to indicate it’s turned on). Would recommend to a friend.

It will work without difficulty with adsl cables CAT8-7…, going down (see the difference on the Internet).- Forward your ADSL (ethernet-internet CABLES) destinations from your home internet source (or network), to; the desktop computer, a laptop computer, another wifi modem (with a switch for example), an android box or a tv, etc., all of whom can then use the same broadband modem in turn or at the same time.> It’s not like a (more expensive) self-managed router that contribute ALSO protects your IP address from being intrusion. It’s a splitter with electrical amplification (3.7W, 1000mb per second) that keeps (all) your connections at HIGH SPEED and maximum performance.(PERSONAL OPINION*) The use of a WIRED INSTALLATION lDOES NOT CONTRIBUTE to adding a surplus of WIFI waves in an environment OFTEN ALREADY TOO full of various waves, and often even the WIFI of others.* In the end, it can only be MORE BENEFICIAL FOR GENERAL HEALTH AND AMBIENT MORALE, whatever some propaganda may say.(TIP) When looking for a modem (or an Internet distributor), try to find a WIFI modem with an ON-OFF switch.     Cheap and working

    Needed an extra network port when the router from ISP filled up.Hard to beat a $10 switch.Works fine, came w/ wall wart for power.Very small size….smaller than I expected, but it’s fine. One of these days someone will make one that’s a cube the size of a yahtzee die w/ 5 sides of network ports and 1 for power. Well, that’d suck for cable management. These things are getting tiny tho. I’m used to rack mount electronics and car trunks that can hold 3 bodies. This thing looks like a deck of cards.

    I mean, it works. Or, worked would be more correct. It died a couple weeks ago. The ports are a bit weird, if I were you, I’d just spend the extra money to get a metal Netgear Ethernet switch even if it’s overkill.

    Exactly what I needed

    Before ordering this, I just had 1 cable running from the modem, and that got annoying really fast. Now I don’t have to switch cables between my home theater PC and Xbox. I also use it for the TV & Bluray to make sure the firmware is updated. Not to mention I paid a few $ less than what it is now even on sale.

    Me ha funcionado bien, para cablear por LAN diferentes dispositivos, es muy fácil de instalar, solo conectando el cable de red a uno de los puertos para de ahí distribuir la señal a los demás, en total tiene 8 puertos pero quedan 7 disponibles para salida. La red trabaja sin problema y a buena velocidad. No es administtrable, pero es compacto y práctico.

    Awesome! I liked it so much I purchased 2 more. Very compact and took less than a 60s to install. Saved the hassle of plugging and unplugging devices. Also, didn’t have end up running a long CAT5 cable. Highly recommend.

    Does what it says

    The item is great works perfect rather than buying an expensive router that might be a lack of security or to have a huge buffering at all the time fact which wasn’t happening with your provider router this would do just fine with a straight Ethernet cable.The only thing for which I haven’t given all stars is that the wlan port isn’t really noted as wlan so I’ve chose the first slot and the book that comes with is not much helpful.Anyway cheap and good hopefully would last not like a gaming router from a well known brand that didn’t last neither meet my expectations even with their quite expensive subscription was failing to keep a connection alive.
